Adelina Anthony, Dino Foxx and Lorenzo Herrera y Lozano will read from their new book Tragic Bitches, An Experiment in Queer Xicana and Xicano Poetry, at Yayo Taco and UNLV’s Student Union, as part of the university’s Women’s History Month celebration, I’m Every Woman. They’ll engulf you with stories of family, ethnicity, love, tragedy and dreams. They’ll make you laugh, break your heart and open your mind.
Anthony, a lesbian multidisciplinary artist, has spent nearly two decades onstage delving into everything from colonization to LGBT communities. Lozano, a writer of Rarámuri descent, is the author of Santo de la Pata Alzada: Poems from the Queer/Xicano/Positive Pen. Foxx, an actor, singer, dancer, writer, spoken-word poet and activist, is part of Jump Start Performance Company and known for his performance piece Memoirs of a Joto.
