a Book Release Reading of the award winning play blu 
by Virginia Grise
with direction by Florinda Bryant
 
Virginia Grise will read from her newest play blu. Winner of the Yale Drama Series Award, blu follows a queer  Chicana/o family as they love & war while police helicopters circle their starlit rooftop dreams. Virginia Grise is  an award-winning multi-disciplinary artist who pushes against the boundaries of traditional theatre & live performance.  She was awarded the Princess Grace Award in theatre directing and her published work includes The Panza Monologues (UT Press, forthcoming), an edited volume of Zapatista communiqués titled Conversations with Don Durito (Autonomedia Press) and blu (Yale University Press). SUPPORT THE PRODUCTION OF BLU:Virginia Grise is seeking funds for the World Premiere production of her play blu in Los Angeles, CA.
